Aberdeen Heights Manor Announces 2024 Masterpiece Winners

KIRKWOOD, Mo. — Winning artist in Aberdeen Heights’ annual Art is Ageless® juried competition will be featured in the 2025 Art is Ageless calendar produced by PMMA (Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America®).

“Three Sisters,” a Painting entry by Larry Gross, will appear in the calendar when it is released this fall.

The works were first selected among the winners of the local competition and were automatically entered into a masterpiece level competition with winning art from 14 other PMMA® communities. More than 180 entries were received for this year’s masterpiece competition. The winners are featured in the Art is Ageless calendar with pull-out postcards and greeting cards.

“Let’s Decorate for Christmas,” a Christmas entry by Martha Kaelble, and “The Tuba Player,” a Mixed Media/Crafts entry by Thomas Mitchell, will be featured on Art is Ageless greeting cards.

“Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep,” a Fiber Arts entry by Diane Hootman, “Sunrise Behind a Mobile,” a Photography entry by Martha Kaelble, and “Family Tree,” a Quilting entry by Betty Mueller, will be included in the calendar’s honorable mention gallery.

“We’re thrilled to see our local artists be featured so prominently after our local exhibit and competition,” said Kim Moore, life enrichment director. “Their work is proof that creativity remains, no matter our age.”

A copyrighted program of PMMA, Art is Ageless is open exclusively to people aged 65 and over. For the competition, works must have been completed in the past five years.

Started in 1980, Art is Ageless is an extension of PMMA’s wellness programs, which focus on mental, physical, social and spiritual health. It encourages Aberdeen Heights residents and other area seniors to express their creativity through its annual competition.
