Farmington Presbyterian Manor Announces 2024 Masterpiece Winners

FARMINGTON, Mo. — Five winning artists in Farmington Presbyterian Manor’s annual Art is Ageless® juried competition will be featured in the 2025 Art is Ageless calendar produced by PMMA (Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America®).

“Square Dance: RED,” a Quilting entry by Bill Black, “Bonnie Cat,” a Painting entry by Sandra McIntosh, “Silk Mosaic Jacket,” a Fiber Arts entry by Joyce Pierson, “Petals of Grace,” a Photography entry by Linda Smith, and “Hamburger I,” a Drawing entry by Colleen Williams, will appear in the calendar when it is released this fall.

The works were first selected among the winners of the local competition and were automatically entered into a masterpiece level competition with winning art from 14 other PMMA® communities. More than 180 entries were received for this year’s masterpiece competition. The winners are featured in the Art is Ageless calendar with pull-out postcards and greeting cards.

“Smokey,” a Photography entry by Joyce Huber, will be featured on the pull-out postcards included in the 2025 calendar.

“Lamb of God,” a Christmas entry and “The Plaza,” a Painting entry by DeeAnne Hansen, will be featured on Art is Ageless greeting cards.

“Knit Doll Clothes,” a Fiber Arts entry by Joan Hampton, and “Cottonwood Village,” a Sculpture/3D entry by David Mayo, Sr., will be included in the calendar’s honorable mention gallery.

“We’re thrilled to see our local artists be featured so prominently after our local exhibit and competition,” said Keely Jameson, senior living sales director. “Their work is proof that creativity remains, no matter our age.”

A copyrighted program of PMMA, Art is Ageless is open exclusively to people aged 65 and over. For the competition, works must have been completed in the past five years.

Started in 1980, Art is Ageless is an extension of PMMA’s wellness programs, which focus on mental, physical, social and spiritual health. It encourages Farmington Presbyterian Manor residents and other area seniors to express their creativity through its annual competition.
